Location. The Treasure Beach Hotel is located on the West Coast of the island of Barbados in St. James. The prestigious Sandy Lane Golf Courses are one-half kilometer from the hotel. Historic Holetown, offering shops and restaurants, and Folkestone Marine Park, with diving, snorkeling and a museum with an aquarium, are approximately three kilometers away.
Features. This all-suite hotel faces a 75-meter ivory-sand beach shaded by a majestic mahogany tree with cushioned lounge chairs. A kidney-shaped pool is set in a garden courtyard. The hotel's restaurant, Al Fresco, is a split-level, open-air, fine-dining restaurant adjacent to pool, offering a breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner. An evening dress code at the restaurant requires long pants and sleeved shirts for men, and cocktail dresses or evening slacks for women. Richard's Bar, an open-air lounge open from late morning to late night, also requires an evening dress code. The Tuesday-night poolside barbecue buffet features live music. An air-conditioned lounge offers a computer station with complimentary high-speed Internet access, an extensive library and a 43-inch television with a DVD player and complimentary DVDs. Wireless Internet access is provided throughout the property. A small, air-conditioned fitness center offers Cybex and strength-training equipment.
Guestrooms. The hotel offers 35 one-bedroom suites in three, three-story buildings with no elevators. The suites feature furnished balconies and patios with garden, pool or ocean views. Sitting rooms offer double sofa beds, wing-backed chairs and wet bars. Decor features include creamy coral-stone walls, ceramic-tile floors and bleached-wood furniture. Bedrooms offer air conditioners and ceiling fans. Sitting rooms are cooled by ceiling fans and fresh air through louvered wall panels. Electric kettles are provided to brew tea and coffee. Bathrooms feature green-marble or mahogany vanities, twin above-counter basin sinks, glass-door shower stalls and separate tubs. Plasma televisions offer U.S./international cable channels. In-room massage services are available for a fee.
Expert Tip. Guests of the hotel enjoy complimentary use of snorkeling gear for exploring the clear Caribbean waters. A water-sports center at an adjacent hotel offers snorkeling trips, water skiing, tubing and banana-boating. It also rents kayaks, sailboats, boogie boards and wind-surfers.
