Location. The Art Nouveau-style Hotel Paris is in the Old Town of Prague, Czech Republic, within one block of Powder Tower. The hotel is 400 metres from Wenceslas Square. The nearest metro is Namesti Republiky. Prague Ruzyne Airport (PRG) is 16 kilometres away. Hotel Features. Built in 1904, the Hotel Paris retains its original Art Nouveau exterior. An elaborate glass and iron canopy leads into a small lobby with mosaic-tiled floor and gilt-trimmed vaulted ceiling. A grand staircase sweeps up with a decorative railing and period stained-glass panels. Multilingual concierge staff can provide tour assistance. Childcare can be arranged (surcharge).
Named after the actress and singer, the Sarah Bernhardt Restaurant has an Art Nouveau interior with blue mosaic wall tiles, original light fittings and gilt stuccowork. It serves French, Czech and international dishes, has live music each evening and jazz during Sunday brunch. Café de Paris is styled on a 1930s French café and is popular for coffee and cakes. Bar Chez des Amis is a favourite for cocktails. Room service is available 24 hours.
The Hotel Paris has meeting rooms for small groups, rents laptops and mobile phones, and has wireless Internet access throughout.
The hotel's Wellness and Spa Centre offers pampering treatments from massaging showers and saunas to hydro-massage tub and professional Ayurvedic massage (surcharge).
Guestrooms. The 86 air-conditioned guestrooms at the Hotel Paris have high ceilings, lace- trimmed sheer curtains, and reproduction Art Nouveau furniture. All rooms have satellite television, wireless Internet access, minibars and safes. Bathrooms have massage showers, bathrobes, slippers and cosmetic sets.
Expert Tip. Crowds gather by Prague's Old Town Hall, just 400 metres from the hotel, every hour. The 15th-century mechanism in its Astronomical Clock Tower activates a procession of figures and a skeleton figure that tolls the clock's bell.
