Location. The 19th-century lakeside Grand Hotel Majestic is located in Verbania, Italy, within one kilometre of the town centre. By Lake Maggiori, the hotel is 100 metres from the picturesque island of San Giovanni. Hotel Features. Built in 1870, the Grand Hotel Majestic is set on a promontory jutting out onto the lake, and brings the belle epoque to the western shores of Lake Maggiori. The carefully renovated hotel is painted white with columns. Its balconies, patios, landscaped gardens and private jetty take in views of the Borromean Islands. The hotel's grand entrance leads into the carpeted lobby, an internal cloister with columns, balconies and a lounge with newspapers.
The hotel provides guests with a complimentary breakfast. Its main classically styled restaurant, La Beola, serves a changing menu that ranges from noodles with saffron and scallops to rabbit stuffed with foie gras. Open for dinner only, it has views of the gardens and lake. Il Portico offers light meals on the patio, including salads and regional dishes. La Terraza has informal snacks and drinks in the afternoon, and aperitifs, cocktails and nightcaps in the evening.
There is a business corner at the hotel with computer, printer and high-speed Internet access, a conference room for meetings and complimentary parking.
The Grand Hotel Majestic has a pool, fitness room, sauna and beauty centre. There is a small beach and private jetty with motorboat hire. Scooter rentals, canoeing, horse riding and birdwatching are available nearby.
Guestrooms. The Grand Hotel Majestic's 90 air-conditioned guestrooms have parquet flooring, antique-style furnishings and fabrics in rich colours. All rooms have satellite television, Internet connections (surcharge), minibars and safes.
